1. How to determine M Weight for a given sheet size and basis weight.

Example: Determine the M Weight of a sheet of 25" × 38", basis weight 41.0 lb./msf

25" × 38"  × 41 = 270 M*

144

* The weight will be rounded to the preceding whole number (below 0.5) or to the following whole number (0.5 and above).

Example: 270.48 = 270 M
    270.68 = 271 M

2. How to determine Ream Weight for a given sheet size and basis weight.

Example: Determine the ream weight of a sheet of 25" × 38", basis weight 41.0 lb./msf

25" × 38"  ×  41  = 135 lb. per ream

144 2

3. How to determine the Weight of a specific number sheets for a given M Weight.

Example: Determine the weight of 16,800 sheets, M Weight 445 M

445 × 16,800  = 7,476 lb.

1,000

4. How to determine the Linear Footage for a given roll weight, basis weight and roll width.

Example: Determine the linear footage of a roll of 53.3 lb./msf, 31.5" wide, weighing 2,349 lb.

2,349 lb. × 12,000  = approx. 16,789 linear feet

53.3 lb./msf × 31.5"

5. How to determine the Basis Weight for a given roll weight, linear footage and roll width.

Example: Determine the basis weight of a roll weighing 2,349 lb., with a linear footage of 16,789 and 31.5" wide.

2,349 lb. × 12,000  = 53.5 lb./msf

31.5" × 16,789

6. How to determine the Roll Area for a given linear footage and width.

Example: Determine the roll area, 31.5" wide, 16,391 ft long.

16,391 ft × 31.5"  = 43,026 sq.ft

7. Conversion from thousand square inch (msi) to thousand square feet (msf).

Example: 144,000 msi

144,000  = 1,000 msf

144

8. Conversion from thousand square feet (msf) to thousand square inch (msi).

Example: 1,000 msf

1,000 x 144 = 144,000 msi

12.5   General Price Calculations

1. Conversion from price per hundred weight (cwt) to price per thousand square feet (msf).

Example: $49.00/cwt – 41.0 lb./msf, 10 pt C1S Plus.

$49.00 × 41  = $20.09/msf

100

2. Conversion from price per thousand sheets to price per thousand square feet (msf).

Example: $184.45/M Sheet – 25" × 36".

$184.45 × 144  = $29.51/msf

25" × 36"

3. Conversion from price per thousand square feet (msf) to price per ton.

Example: $20.09/msf – 41.0 lb./msf, 10 pt C1S Plus.

$20.09 × 2,000  = $980/ton

41

4. Conversion from price per ton to price per thousand square feet (msf).

Example: $980/ton – 41.0 lb./msf, 10 pt C1S Plus.

$980/ton × 41  = $20.09/msf

2,000

5. Conversion from price per thousand square feet (msf) to price per thousand sheets ($/M Sheets).

Example: $29.51/msf – 25" × 36".

$29.51 × 25" × 36"  = $184.45/M Sheets

144

6. Conversion from price per hundred weight (cwt) to price per thousand sheets ($/M Sheets).

Example: $47.00/cwt – 472 M Weight.

$47.00 × 472  = $221.84/M Sheets

100

7. Conversion from price per hundred square meters ($/csm) to price per metric tonne (mt).

Example: $33.07/csm – 200 gsm.

$33.07 × 10,000  = $1,653.50/mt

200

8. Conversion from price per metric tonne ($/mt) to price per hundred square meters ($/csm).

Example: $1,653.50/mt – 200 gsm.

$1,653.50 × 200  = $33.07/csm

10,000

9. Conversion from price per thousand square feet ($/msf) to price per thousand square inches ($/msi).

Example:  $16.43 × 1,000  = $0.11/msi

  144,000

10. Conversion from price per thousand square feet ($/msf) to price per linear foot ($/Lft).

Note: To be used for comparison purposes, TPGB does not bill in $/Lft.

Example: $20.50/msf for 26,5" wide roll, 200,000 linear feet.

26.5"/12 x 200,000 Lft  = 441.66666 msf

1,000

441.66666 msf x 20.50/msf = $9,054.17 (value of sale)

$9,054.17/200,000 Lft = $0.045/Lft

11. Conversion from price per hundred weight ($/cwt) to price per thousand square inch ($/msi).

12. Conversion from thousand square inch to thousand square feet.

13. Conversion from thousand square feet to thousand square inch.
