Tembec today announced that it has been named one of Kimberly-Clark’s suppliers of the year. The award, presented by Kimberly-Clark CEO Thomas Falk at a ceremony in June, recognizes Tembec’s leadership in providing Forest Stewardship Council (“FSC”)certified pulp. The FSC certification is generally recognized by consumers, governments and environmental groups as the most stringent certification standard in the industry. This is the second consecutive year that Tembec has received this “Supplier of the Year” recognition.

“This award was the result of the combined efforts of all employees associated with our pulp production from the forest right through to the shipping floor. It was accepted on their behalf, as well as for the Company and is recognition that we should all take great pride in,” said Yvon Pelletier, Executive Vice President and President of the Pulp Group. “It is also consistent with our approach of providing products that reduce overall environmental impact while meeting market needs. We are pleased to partner with Kimberly-Clark in developing environmentally sound supply solutions.”

In 2001, Tembec was the first large-scale forestry company in Canada to seek third-party certification for all of its forest operations in accordance with FSC forest management standards. With in excess of 11 million hectares of FSC-certified forestland under management and with the largest range of FSCcertified forest products in the marketplace, Tembec is a global leader in resource stewardship.
